This weekend I was lucky enough to have Cambridge-based artist Mr Gauky come paint on my office wall. I thought having one of his notorious characters in a creative space would be inspiring – not to mention pretty cool.

What began as a one-day project turned into a full weekend of fun. On Friday afternoon, Mr Gauky arrived with his paintbrushes and marker pens. All went well until we decided a pint was in order while the first layer of paint dried. The pint turned into several pints – followed by a few cans and a foray into town and fuzzy heads all round the next day. The painting wasn’t completed until Monday, but we had a great time, and Mr Gauky became a member of the family, living with me until he completed the painting.
