SupremeBeing

The brief was to design a catalogue for print and to tie in the culture and ethos of ‘SupremeBeing’, I was working closely with ‘Damian Quinn’ their in-house footwear designer throughout this process. We decided to split the book into sections, each type of shoe would have it’s own individual chapter and based around this we then designed a structure for each chapter.
Once we had the structure in place we then started to source photography from local friends and photographers that really sum up the “SupremeBeing Culture”. Dwens photos really helped round off the feeling of the book as we used a selection of his shots of folk known to ‘Supreme’ and places around Cambridge.
Damian turned his hand to photography as he knew the angles of which he wanted to display the shoes, whilst he was snapping I was cropping, designing, placing and laying out in InDesign.
We had different designers from the ‘Supreme’ design team designing pieces of artwork to slot into the look books structure, these pieces complemented the photography of the shoes and tied together the overall style. At the beginning of each chapter we had a line drawing of the shoe printed on tracing paper and then a photo of the shoe on the page beneath, Joe created the most awesome line drawings for these pages and the over all effect was just what we were looking for. A collage of these line drawings then went on to become the front cover.

At the end of each chapter Yoc designed an advert for the shoe in a 70s shoe ad style using bright colours and bold typography, the overall effect was great. These really jumped off the page and at one point we could swear that the shoe on his computer monitor was literally hovering in front of the screen! The ads helped to finalise the chapter and sumarise the shoe, not to mention added a touch of humor with a subtle dig to the industry within the texts undertone.

The catalogue turned out to be around 100 pages long in the end and was a true collaboration of talent from the ‘SupremeBeing’ gang, I was just lucky enough to tie it all together. I will try to get some more images up of the shoes so you can see how good their new season of sneakers really are, after all, they are the real reason the book looks so great!
The sneakers in this catalogue are not out yet but check out the current collection..
